Alaska: a Check off the Bucket List
Celebrating a 10 year wedding anniversary with our children on an Alaskan cruise!
This is my first blog, and I am excited to share one of the most enchanting and unforgettable vacations I have ever experienced. It was in May 2017 that I finally got the opportunity to visit Alaska and embark on a remarkable cruise. Accompanied by my husband and two lovely daughters, aged 4 and 6 at that time, we set sail on a journey filled with awe and wonder. The culinary delights on board were simply divine, and the fact that it was all-inclusive allowed us to fully indulge in the entire experience. Additionally, we had the pleasure of capturing our precious moments through the lenses of talented photographers on the ship. It was such a tough decision to choose among the breathtaking pictures that we ended up splurging and purchasing several of them.
We had a fantastic time on Carnival's ship, the Legend. There was so much to do and explore, making it the perfect choice for our family vacation. Our daughters had a blast at Camp Ocean, while my spouse and I cherished the moments we spent together. One highlight of our trip was the delightful breakfast dining experience at Suess at Sea. The themed menu was a hit with everyone, especially the kids who had a blast enjoying their Green Eggs and Ham. We even had the opportunity to take pictures with some of the beloved characters. For just an additional $5 per person, it was well worth the cost. We highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable cruise vacation.
We had an amazing time exploring Alaska on our vacation. We decided to take a few paid excursions to make the most of our trip. However, now that we are trying to find the exact excursions we went on, it has become quite challenging. The options we find online seem to be bundled with other activities, and the prices have doubled since our visit. Despite this hurdle, we have fond memories of the excursions we enjoyed at each port. In Juneau, we visited the stunning Tongass National Forest and marveled at the breathtaking Mendenhall Glacier. In Skagway, we had an unforgettable experience on the White Pass Railroad Adventure. Lastly, the Sitka Cultural Tour gave us a deeper understanding of the local culture. Although it's difficult to find the exact excursions now, we will always cherish the incredible experiences we had in Alaska.
